Coverage

The policy provides coverage for death from natural causes or humane destruction as a result of a lifethreatening injury. The endorsement for Accident, Sickness & Disease (ASD) Infertility provides coverage in the event of permanent impotency, infertility or the bull’s inability to naturally service cows as a result of an accident, sickness, or disease sustained during the policy.

Value

The Purchase Price of the bull is considered to be the Agreed Value on the policy. If the bull has been raised by the applicant, his value must be substantiated if higher than market price.

Cost

10% of value for Mortality and Loss of Use Broad Form (Losses due to Freezing and Frostbite INCLUDED.)
8% of value for Mortality and Loss of Use Limited Form (Losses due to Freezing and frostbite EXCLUDED.)

Term

Renewable One-Year Policy Term for Bulls 6 Months to 7 Years of Age.

Testing

To be eligible for Infertility coverage, a bull must be determined to be a “sound breeder” by passing a breeding-soundness evaluation (BSE) administered by a veterinarian within thirty (30) days of application.

Coverage Options

Broad: 80% of the value of the bull, less salvage value, in the event of permanent
impotency, in-fertility or being incapable of serving females as a result of an
accident, illness, or disease sustained during the policy.
Limited: 100% of the value of the bull, less salvage value, in the event of permanent
impotency, in-fertility or being incapable of serving females as a result of an
accident, illness, or disease sustained during the policy. Losses from freezing and
frost-bite are excluded.
